"In 1970, our area had a huge demand for both residential and commercial tree trimming services. I was busy earning my degree at Western Michigan University but decided to "Go for it!" and opened Handley's Tree Service and Hardwoods that year on the NE Corner of 9th Street and I-94 in Oshtemo, MI."

I incorporated Handley's Tree Service & Hardwoods in 1975, and shortly thereafter made investments in commercial tree and wood products processing machinery. This investment allowed the business to expand into wood chips and mulch.

The business was growing quickly, to better serve customers -- I purchased a 60-acre farm.  In 1992, I continued to expand business services by processing hardwood logs into lumber.

In a continued effort to offer customers new products and services --I am investing in kiln drying equipment and technology.  Architectural millwork products for upscale residential and commercial building projects will be available soon!

Recycling is a huge part of Handley’s enterprises!  Our commercial “tub grinder” processes wood into chips and shredded mulch.
